The town of Montserrat (Monserrat) lies approximately 25Km southwest of Valencia and 25Km inland from the coastline. It sits on a small hill with an altitude of around 160m, with a idge of 260m altitude to the north.
The surrounding countryside is a mixture of semi barren land and agricultural land growing citrus fruit, olives, and grape vines.
Around the town there is quite a scattering of villas, and the area has become popular with British expats.
