Chilches, also known as Xilxes in Valencian, lies approximately 30Km south of Castellon city and 40Km north of Valencia on the Costa del Azahar coastline. As is often the case, the original village lies 3Km inland but there is also a modern development on the coast.
Both the village and the resort are on the coastal plain (fertile agricultural land mostly growing citrus trees), with low hills rising immediately behind.
The coastline boasts a sandy beach with a paved promenade running the entire length, and low rise buildings.
Chilches has a station on the Valencia to Castellon (and Barcelona) line, the journey into Valencia taking approximately 25 mimnutes.
