The bustling small town of Atzaneta del Maestrat lies in a wide agricultural valley growing mostly olives and almonds, approximately 55Km inland from the Costa del Azahar, within view of the 1800m high peak of Penyagolosa.
The town has the remains of a moorish castle 3Km away and there are remnants of the old city wall within the town. There are also a number of interesting hermitages in the area dating from the 16th to 18th century.
