Located 8Km from the southern Costa Blanca coastline and due west of Torrevieja, San Miguel de Salinas (known as Sant Miquel de les Salines in the Valencian language) has been popular with British expats, who now form almost half the population.
This is a mostly modern town, much of the original town having been destroyed by an earthquake in the 19th century.
