The main part of San Juan, or to give it it's full Valencian name, Sant Joan d'Alacant, lies approximately 6Km North East of Alicante and 2Km from the Costa Blanca coast.
On the coast is a beautiful wide sandy beach 7Km long with mostly medium rise aprtment blocks, separated from the beach by the tramway. This part of the coast is more residential than the more touristy areas but you will still find a selection of watersports and beach bars.
San Juan itself is a typical spanish town and has good selection of shops, banks, bars and restaurants.
The tramway on the coast connects to Alicante (a 20 minute journey) to the south, and beyond Benidrom to Denia (a 2 and half hour journey) to the north.
