Jalon, known as Xaló in Valencian, is town lying approximately 12 Km inland from the Costa Blanca roughly equidistant from Denia and Calpe.
Sitting in a valley where local farmers look after their trees of olives and almonds along with vineyards, the town offers a glimpse of rural Spain yet with good access to the coast and the cities of Alicante and Valencia.
The town is famous for its bodegas or wine cellars where you can sample and buy locally produced wines and there are also a good selection of restaurants, bars, handicraft and specialist food shops.
The local market is Tuesdays
