The village of Hondon de los Frailes is located approximately 45 Km west of Alicante city, in a wide valley (known as the Hondon Valley), around 400m above sea level.
The area is very much agricultural, predominantly growing olives, almonds and grapes for wine production and the table.
The town has a small selection of bar/restaurants, banks and shops, a fuel station, and a traditional Spanish market is held on Thursdays.
