The village of Dolores de Pacheco (often shortened to just Dolores) lies approximatley 4Km inland from the Mar Menor and the larger resort of Los Alcázares, surrounded by agricultural land, mostly growing vegetables.
Dolores de Pacheco sits at around 50m above sea level, in the flat fertile land that lies west of the Mar Menor (known as the Campo de Cartagena), the only nearby higher land being the Cabezo Gordo, which rises to just over 300m, 4Km to the north-west.
