La Sella, Alicante, submitted by Michael Turner
Just returned from a five day golfing trip to Spain. Played La Sella Wed 2nd Nov.
Great course design however, Anything less than perfect shots can land you in serious difficulty. I have rated course 4/10 for the following reasons.
Course condition very poor and under maintained. Greens truly awful. Slow, Bumpy, Severely pockmarked.
It was clear by the way parties were being sent out at 7 minute intervals with 2 balls being slotted together without so much as a " do you mind " even when we had paid for buggies, to be put out with a pair of clearly very high handicappers who were not using a buggie made the experience too long and far less enjoyable it than otherwise might have been.
Clearly the objective here is to generate as much revenue as possible without providing the course with the level of maintenance it clearly needs.
Course overplayed so heavily there is no time for adequate maintenance.
At 75 euros a round plus 30 euros for buggie it is heavily overpriced. would be reasonable value at half this price.
My recommendation " give it a miss " much better courses available at substantially better prices.
