Situated between Lugo and Santiago de Compostela, the small town of Palas de Rei lies on the final stages of the Camino de Santiago (approximately 60Km to go from here).
As indicated by the name, there used to be a kings palace here but nothing remains now. It does however have a church dating from the 12th century (together with many other romanesque churches and chapels as a result of it's position on the camino), plus the impressive 14th century Pambre Castle.
The town also has a good selection of bars, restaurants, and shops.
