The city of Huelva, sat on the river Odiel, has a historic port but the present day port is divided into two parts, the inner port close to the city, and the outer port, approximately 5Km down river, below where the Rio Tinto joins the Odiel.
The port of Huelva sits approximately mid-way between Sevilla to the east, and the southern Portugal city of Faro to the west. The former is a 1 car journey with a distance of 100Km, and the later 1hr 30 minutes with a distance of 130Km.
There are good road and bus connections with both cities.
