The interesting old town of Tivissa lies approximately 16Km from the Costa Dorada coast and 8Km from the river Ebre, just off the L'Hospitalet de l'Infant to Mora d'Ebre road.
Although there has been some new building on the outskirts of the town, the old town with it's attractive buildings and norrow streets still dominates.
The unusual church has an exterior built in the 19th century although the octagonal belltower dates from the 15th century. The inside of the church however is an earlier building which was due to be demolished after the larger 19th century outside was complete. This never happened.
There are only a small number of bars in Tivissa and very few shops.
