The village of Tivenys lies on the northern bank of the River Ebro, approximately 10Km north of the town Tortosa, and 20Km inland from the Costa Dorada coastline at L'Ampolla. The Ebro Delta Natural Park lies at a distance of approximately 30Km.
Being just below the Cherta Wier, Tivenys has the left canal passing between it and the river. This canal provides irregation water for the rice growing on the delta.
Tivenys has a small selection of shops, bars, and restaurants.
The village is surrounded by agricultural land growing olives and almonds on dry land, or citrus fruit and peaches where irregation is available.
