Playa d'Aro, or Platja d'Aro lies in the centre of the Costa Brava coastline of Catalunya, approximately 80Km north east of Barcelona.
Together with the town of Castell d'Aro ,located 3Km inland,the two are sometimes referred to as Castell-Platja d'Aro.
Playa d'Aro was originally a small fishing village but is now a large modern resort with a good selection of shops and amenities to suit a variety of tastes, plenty of bars and night-life, plus 3Km of sandy beach with smaller sandy coves to the north.
