The small village of Unquera lies on the east bank of the river Deva inlet, just 2 km inland from the Costa Cantabria northern coast of spain, approximately 20km from the Picos de Europa National Park.
The village infact sits on the border between the regions of Cantabria and Asturias, and is on the narrow guage railway which runs between Santander and Oviedo.

Unquera is famous in Spain for it's neck-tie shaped pastries coated in sugared almonds (Corbatas de Unquera).
