The small town of Barlovento is situated on the rugged northern coast of La Palma in the westward Canary Isles.
This is a mainly rural area, away from the obvious tourist centres, with plenty of scope for relaxing and walking. It is however relatively well connected, being on the LP-1 trunk road which encircles the island.
The coastline here is very rugged with little in the way of beaches although there are however natural salt water pools used for swimming.
