Located 30Km south of San sebastian and connected via the A1 motorway or a 30 train journey, the town of Tolosa has good access to the coast. This attractive large town sits on the river Oria.
Previously the capital town of the Guipuzcao province, Tolosa has plenty of historic buildings, including the 17th century Santa Mariá church, built on the edge of the river, and the nearby Idiaquez Palace built in the 18th century, after its predecessor was destroyed by fire.
The town has a Saturday market where local produce can be bought, said to be the largest such market in the Basque Country.
