Situated on the northern edge of the Parque Natural Arala, 40Km south of San Sebastian, Abaltzisketa is surrounded by stunning scenery, with the mountains of the park rising to over 1300m. The village has a small nucleus, with few facilities, and a scattering of hamlets.
This is an agricultural area with the surrounding land comprising grasing for livestock intersperse with forrestry.
