The town of Andratx is located approximately 4Km up a valley inland, close to the western-most point of Mallorca. At the bottom of the valley, on the coast, lies the Puerto de Andratx development which has a large marina in a natural bay. The municipality also includes the developments of Sa Coma, S'Arracó, Sant Elm and Camp de Mar, located on some stunning coastline.
Although Andratx itself lies in a low valley, parts of the municipality rise to over 900m, in part of the Sierra de Tramontana.
The surrounding area traditionally relied on the agricultural and fishing industries, but now of course tourism is very important, however, almonds, carob, figs and citrus fruit and grapes (for the production of Santa Catarina) are still grown.
