The Redes Natural Park, extending to 37,000Ha lies between the Picos de Europa and Oviedo, inland from the Costa Verde, in Asturias region.

This is a rugged, largely forested area of the basin to the river Nalon ranging from 400 to 2000m above sea level, growing beach, oak, holley, yew and ferns, while in the higher areas, narcissus, heather and bilberry grow.

Animals to be found here include the bear and otter red deer and wild boar, while the birdlife of around 130 species, particularly in the scrub and rocky areas, includes golden eagle, Egyptian vulture and goshawk.

This is a very picturesque part of northern Spain with a variety of stunning views to be found.

There is a visitor centre at Campo de Caso where there is information on walks in this excellent walking area including:
Ruta del Alba
Desfildero de los Arrudos
Ruta de Brañagallones
Valle del Rio Enmedio
