Sevilla, the 4th largest city in Spain and the capital city of the Andalucia region, lies on the Guadalquivir river, before it heads out past the Doñana National park to the Atlantic.

It is considered by many to be one of Spains most attractive cities and has relics from its Roman history, and notable buildings from the time of the Moors. These include the Alcázar, originally a moorish fort and later a royal palace, still in use today and is a World Heritage site. Unusually for Spain, the city has a port on the river, inspite of being 80Km from the sea.

The stunning Sevilla Cathedral, built in the 15th century in the Gothic style is also a World Heritage site, and is believed to be the third largest church in the world.
Sevilla records some of the highest summertime temperatures for any city in Spain.
