Located on the Costa del Sol coastline 12Km east of Malaga city, Rincon de la Victoria has origens from before Roman times as evidenced by remains of buildings that have been found. In more recent times this would have been a fishing village, but with modern development, it is now home to people working in Malaga city and a holiday destination.
You will still see fishing boats on the sandy beach (which has a moorish tower at its western end) but will also see a modern paseo (promenade) passing chiringuitos and restaurants.
Places of interest include the Bezmiliana Castle, a fortress dating from the 18th century, and the Cueve del Tesoro (treasure cave) which is the only visitable marine cave in Europe.
