Locaated 10Km east of Malaga city on the eastern Costa del Sol coastline, the town of La Cala del Moralstarted life as a fishing village, although there is no evidence of that today. With views across the Mediterranean to Torremolinos, it is now a popular tourist destination for Spanish tourists, and a number will have holiday homes there.
There is large beach of course sand or pebbles with a small number of beach bars (chiringuitos).
One of the local places of interest is the Cueva del Tesoro (Treasure Cave), the only cave of submarine origin in Europe, and one of ony 3 in the world.
A good bus service runs between the town and Malaga city, running approximately every 20 minutes during the day.
