The whitewashed village of Guaro sits a bit off the beaten track, 20Km inland from the Costa del Sol coastline and 45Km west of Malaga city. It is at an an altitude of 350m, on the eastern edge of the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park.
The village has a small selection of bars, restaurants and small shops on its winding hillside streets.
The rugged surrounding area is agricultural, growing mainly almond and olive trees.
