If you are heading west, Estepona is the last large resort on the Costa del Sol before you hit the Malaga/Cadiz province border. It is, in-fact a large old pueblo, with narrow cobbled streets and tapas bars, which has managed to retain a lot of it's original identity whilst also developing to cater for tourists.
Playa de Cristo at Estepona is a sheltered cove with a sandy beach and shallow water providing safe bathing for families.
A modern harbour provides moorings for both fishing vessels and pleasure or sports boats. Boat trips are available for fishing or sight seeing.
The Estepona traditional weekly market is held on Wednesdays.
