Pueblo Blanco of Casarabonela Church of the Santiago Apostle View From the Plaza de Buenavista Plaza de Buenavista One of Many Narrow Streets More narrow Streets Typical Doorway

Located approximately 40Km inland from the Costa del Sol coastline and 40Km from Malaga city and the airport, the large pueblo blanco of Casarabonela sits under the Sierra Prieta at the northern end of the Sierra de las Nieves, which rises to 1400m.
The village itself, which spreads up the hillside between 400 and 460m above sea level, overlooks the fertile valley of the Arroyo de Casarabonela, which then flows into the Guadalhorce fiver.

The village has a maze of narrow cobbaled streets, indicative of it's Moorish history (there is also evidence of a ruined Moorish castle), and there is also evidence of a Roman history.

Located just below the village, the Botanical Garden of Cacti and Succulent Plants, has a huge collection of plants from around the world.
