The village of Benahavis lies approximately 7Km inland, midway between Marbella and Estepona, just over 200m above sea level in the southern foothills of the Serrania de Ronda, on the Costa del Sol. The location gives it a comanding view over much of the coastline.
The whitewashed village is popular with tourists, is well supplied with restaurants (said to have the highest concentration of high class restaurants in the region), and it's large municipality includes several golf courses, country clubs and hotels. Being of moorish origen, the older part of this attractive village has narrow winding streets.
The rolling surrounding countryside is mostly natural woodland, though of course, some of this has been lost to development.
