The rural town of Pozo Alcón lies on the south eastern boundary of Jaen province, slightly nearer to the city of Granada than Jaen (155Km).
The town also sits on the southern edge of the Natural Park of Sierras de Cazorla, Spain's largest protected area (and the second larget in Europe), with it's forestry, lakes and rivers. The area immediately around Pozo Alcon is agricultural, mostly growing olive and almond trees.
15Km to the south lies Lake Negratin, the third larges lake in Andalucia, where theere is a beach for swimming, and boating is possible.
