El Portil, a small developed area 10Km from the city of Huelva and 40Km from the Portugese border, sits behind an uncrowded golden sandy beach typical of this part of the Costa de la Luz.
Next to the resort is a natural area with a freshwater lagoon, and pine trees which extend down to a natural beach.
Within walking distance, just inland, is the golf course and associated developments of Nuevo Portil Golf, and a short drive away is the Donana National Park.
El Portil is popular with tourists looking for either a beach holiday or are intersted in nature and bird watching.
