The whitewashed village of Torvizon lies in the Alpujarras, spreading up the side oa valley, approximately 40Km from the coast and 50Km from the city of Granada, in the southern Alpujarras, nestling in the side of a mountain, 700m above sea level.
The village has a 16th century whitewashed church with 18th century carvings, and you will find a small selection of bars/restaurants.
This is predominantly an agricultural area growing almonds, figs, and grapes (for winemaking), and the village is also known for its Pan de Higo (fig bread).
