Located 8Km east of Granada city and 2Km west of the Embalse de Canales, in the deep valley of the river Genil, just north of the Sierra Nevada national park Pinos Genil is a popular location for visitors wishing to walk in the surrounding countryside. An old tramway, following the river, is now used as a footpath for those wanting an easier route.
From here, there is road access (via a winding country lane) to the main access road going to the Sierra Nevada ski resort.
