The small town of Lanjaron, famous for it's bottled water, sits at the western side of the Alpujarras at an altitude of around 650m, near to the Granada to Motril motorway, giving it good access to the city, the Sierra Navada, and the coast.
The surroundng area is agricultural, growing oranges, lemons and olives.
The town would make a good base for exploring the Alpujarras, Granada (a distance of 45Km) and the coast (a distance of 35Km), and has a selection of bars, restuarants, shops, and banks.
There is also a large number of ornate drinking water fountains scattered through the streets.
