Situated on the Costa de Luz coast 70Km south east of the city of Cadiz, and 25Km north west of Tarifa, Zahara de los Atunes offers a fantatic uncrowded sandy beach and a town that will appeal to surfers and families. You will find good food here, in establishments to suit all comers.
There are also chiringuito bars on the beach creating an atmosphere, particularly in the evenings.
Water sports are of course available, including surfing, kitesurfing, paddle boarding.
Zahara de los Atunes has a long history, and was a fishing village in the 16th century speciallised in trapping tuna, giving rise to the name. Tuna is likely to feature on many of the restaurants menus.
