Located approximately 60 Km inland from the Costa del Sol, the town of Olvera lies approximately halfway between Sevilla and Marbella, and half way between Antequera and Jerez.
This Pueblo Blanco sitting at just over 600m above sea level was declared a centre of artistic and historic importance in 1983, and is overlooked by the neoclassical tyled 19th century church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, looking more like a cathedral due to its size. The town is also overlooked by a castle built in the 12th and 13th centuries.
This is still very much an agricultural area, with the surrounding fields and hills mostly growing olive trees, although tourists are now also catered for.
