Located 12Km inland from the atlantic coastline of the Costa de la Luz, Jerez de la Frontera is the largest city in the province of Cadiz.
The city stands in an agricultural area which has traditionally grown grapes for sherry production, though horse and cattle rearing are also important. Jerez is also the location of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, with their famous dancing horses.
This historic city has an 11th century Moorish fortress (Alcazaba) which has been partly restored, next to the 17th century Cathedal of San Salvador, which includes Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassicist styles.
