The small village of Benamahoma sits at around 500m above sea level and lies approximately 30km west of Ronda, in the Sierra de Grazalema (a natural park with peaks rising to 1,600m). This whitewashed village has steep narrow streets.
This is a stunning part of southern Spain with gorges, streams, and forests of oak and pine, yet the Costa del Sol is still only 45km away. The head of the Majaceite river is fed by a fast flowing spring in woodlands near the village, where it joins the El Bosque, flowing through the village itself.
