Agua Amarga (which translates to Bitter Water) is one of the jewels of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park coastline, lying aproximately 6km south of the town of Carboneras.
Being a little off the beaten track, Agua Amarga remains a little different with a very relaxing air to it. Although modern, it has character.
There are a small number of shops and bars, including restaurants right on the beach, which is in a sheltered bay having rocky outcrops at either end.
The wide beech is of golden sand (although you will find some rocks at one end). There are also footpaths which climb above, then drop down into more secluded bays.
