Peniscola, located at the northern end of the Costa del Azahar about 40 Km south of the Ebro Delta Natural Park.
Peniscola has been referred to as the city in the sea due to the castle and old town of whitwashed houses standing on a rocky outcrop that is almost surrounded by the sea and forming one side of the harbour where a small fishing fleet land their catch.
To the south you will find a series of rocky coves while there are miles of golden sand to the north running to Benicarlo.
