Costa Calida
The Costa Calida possibly has one of the best climates of all the costas.
This is and up and coming holiday area yet it is possible to find
quiet beaches, small resorts, and to the north, the Mar Menor, a saltwater lagoon
separated from the sea by a 30km stretch of sand. Being separated from the rest of the Mediterranean, the Mar Menor can be at
a higher temperature than the Mediterranean and has a higher level of salts thought to have
beneficial effects.
On the inland side of the Mar Menor is the town of Los Alcazares while further south, beyond the city of Cartagena, is Puerto de Mazarron and Aguilas.
If Golf plays an important part in your life, there are some superb Golf Courses in the area, including the famous La Manga Club
The Costa Calida is serviced by Murcia airport, less than 1hr drive
to all parts or Alicante airport, 1 to 1.5hrs to the north.
