Zarautz is a small town on the flat sandy coast of Guipuzcoa province in the Basque Country, favoured by Spanish royalty in the 19th century.
The safe beach (the largest in the province) and surf make it a popular destination on the Costa Verde today together with the historic town with plenty of places to try the renowned cuisine of the area
A few Km inland from Zarautz lies the Pagoeta Nature Reserve, 29,000 Ha of land centred around Mount Pagoeta (678m).
