Located in the mountains 20 Km due north of Malaga, Casabermeja village is a pueblo blanco sitting 550m above sea level, and is the heart of the surrounding countryside.
The surrounding area has gentle hills with varied tree cover and crops including olives, almonds, plus broad fields of grain and ploughed fields around the numerous farmsteads.
There are also the remains of prehistoric settlements in the area, including paintings in Peñas Cabrera and a Neolithic burial site at Monte Calvario, along with the pottery at Cerro Alcalde, the La Cotonilla ruins (close to the La Molinera stream), and the ruins of the Las Parras fountain in the village, on Calle San Sebastián.
